V Episode 104 Commentary – It’s Only the Beginning

This is my commentary for V episode 104, It’s Only the Beginning. This show originally aired Tuesday November 17th on ABC.

FYI – This was the second time I watched the episode. I originally watched it on Tuesday and recorded this commentary afterwards.

WARNING – if you haven’t watched the show yet, stop reading :)

0:00 — Georgie is lying on the ground in what looks like a parking garage. Eric is running over towards him with gun raised… pauses over the body… and Ryan draws his gun on Erica. WTF?

Flashback? Flashforward? We find out it is a flashforward to a scene later in the show.

0:01 — Georgie, Father Jack, Erica, and Ryan are continuing their meeting from the end of last show. It looks like their meeting at the church. Georgie says “He has been doing this a long time.” Georgie tells Erica the story of his family. Erica asks Ryan how comes he knows he so much about them… Ryan says “I’ve been doing this even longer than Georgie.”

Erica and Father Ryan want to recruit more people. Georgie says they don’t need to recruit more people they just need to get their hands on a V. Georgie wants to cut a V open and show the world who they really are. Ryan points out that would only cause a war and it would be a war the humans can’t win. (technology differences)

0:02 — Erica to Ryan – “You didn’t answer my question before. How do you know so much about the Vs?”

Erica stares at Ryan like she is already questioning his honesty…

Georgie steps in “You’ve got nothing to worry about with Ryan. He saved my ass at the warehouse. If it wasn’t for him I’d be dead right now.”

(BTW Isn’t it interesting that Georgie wants to cut open a V and show the whole world but he knows Ryan is a V and doesn’t ask him to be the guinea pig. I guess friendship runs deep between them.)

0:03 — Georgie and Ryan are walking outside. Georgie asks Ryan why he didn’t tell them he was a V. He thinks Ryan should trust them.

Ryan’s pissed! “I better not EVER hear you talk about skinning a V again!”

0:03 — Creepy V Leader (Marcus), Anna, and Dr. Joshua are discussing the death of Dale on board the V mothership. Dr. Joshua says they’ve never had a murder on any of their ships. Marcus says there are rumors of 5th column aboard the ships. Anna assigns Dr. Joshua the task of investigating the murder. (Lucky for him, since he was the murderer!)

0:04 — Erica is searching the FBI database for information on Ryan… He appears legit. Birth Certificate, drivers license, etc. No criminal records or known aliases though.

Tyler wants to talk to his mom but she’s too busy on the computer to notice. It looks like he has something important to share.

0:05 — There is a tv show on with Chad Decker talking to Anna about the V Medical Centers. Ryan’s girlfriend is sick… the foreshadowing is that she’s going to go to a V medical center but hasn’t told anything to Ryan.

On the tv show Anna is talking about an injection to help humans immunize themselves against a bunch of diseases like cancer, even aging but they haven’t cracked the common cold yet. They suggest humans continue to take their flu shots to help with the common cold.

0:07 — Tyler wants to talk to mom about the girl but then she gets an urgnet phone call from Ryan which thwarts Tyler. Tyler’s really pissed that she doesn’t have time to talk to him. (Maybe he’s better off.)

The four horsemen meet up to discuss the vitamin injection the V want to give the humans. (Ok I couldn’t think of a nickname for Father Jack, Erica, Georgie, and Ryan. Can you think of a better nickname for them so I don’t have to type all 4 names over and over!?)

They meet up so Ryan can give them the scoop on the vitamin injection. He says there was a underground group of V scientists trying to make an injection and that it is a lie. It isn’t a vitamin injection. Ryan isn’t sure what it is but he thinks it will be harmful to the humans in some way. Part of some bigger plan of the Vs. He knows the names of these V scientists and wants to try and find some of them.

0:08 — They find a guy named “Peter Combs” who was a lab assistant back in the day but know he is a big time professor of chemistry. Ryan wants to track him down and follow him so they can find the bigger part of the puzzle. Georgie wants to track him down and kill him.

0:09 — Woah.

Tyler is sitting down. It looks like he is talking on his cell phone because his hand is up to the side of his head but in fact he is at his therapist’s office. He’s talking about his issues with his mom and how he likes the V and she doesn’t. He talks about the V Peace Ambassadors.

Then we see the therapist. Guess who she is? :) Dr. Valerie aka. Ryan’s girlfriend! We hear early on that she was some sort of Psychiatrist or Psychologist or something but now we see how it’s going to come into play. She’s actually Tyler’s therapist!

They have a conversation about how the V are doing good things with the healing centers and Tyler offers to help Dr. Valerie cut through the red tape and get an appointment to see a doctor. (instead of waiting months.)

0:10 — Tyler’s V jacket is on the chair. We see Anna and Lisa in the mother ship watching the video feed. Tyler says he doesn’t care that his mom is a V hater because he is about to turn 18…

Lisa says to Anna “I thought it might take longer but I think Tyler is ready.”

Anna says “Good, bring him up to the ship. Tell him I want to meet him.”

0:14 — Creepy V Leader Marcus and Chad Decker are at a V healing center. Chad has agreed to do a show about the healing centers. (Anna would only do her last interview if he did the show.)

The V technology is amazing and we watch people being healed instantly.

Chad says “Wow, that is amazing.”

Marcus replies “And that is why we want to share our story with the world.”

(Of course if we believe Ryan then all this is a front for something else more devious and diabolical that the V are planning. This is a great way to win people’s trust. And if you watched the original series you have an idea of what I am talking about, right? Noms Noms!)

0:15 — Parking garage. The four horsemen are there looking for the scientist. Georgie is alone on the top floor and he isn’t answering his phone calls from the others.

0:16 — Anna wants to interrogate the other medical staff. She asks Dr. Joshua to get them all together. The Doctor and his assistant walk away and begin a private conversation…

Assistant to Dr. Joshua says “You have to get off the ship.”

Dr. Joshua, “I am not running.”

Assistant, “You are too important. The column needs you.”

Dr. Joshua, “You will carry on and so will the others.”

Assistant interrupts, “No! You cannot be sacrificed no matter what. I won’t let it happen.”

(BTW according to the official ABC commentary the writer wrote the scene so that Dr. Joshua and the assistant were lovers so I guess they will be showing gay V characters in the future. I hope this doesn’t bother you ;) I guess it will give the news web sites and such more to gossip about.)

0:17 — Back at the garage. Georgie is stalking the scientist. Georgie has his gun cocked and loaded. He takes a shot and misses. The professor shoots back and Georgie is hit in the abdomen. The professor disappears.

Now we’re at our flash forward. Erica runs to save Georgie. Ryan draws his gun on Erica but first just over her shoulder to wound the scientist that was coming up behind her.

Ryan asks her to put pressure on Georgie’s wound and he goes over to the scientist. The scientist isn’t cooperating. “You can’t stop us, you filthy traitor.” The scientist then takes a capsule in his mouth. His body begins to burn up and turn to ash.

(I want to point out that when I watched the ABC commentary on episode 103 that the producer says it is ash on the floor at Cryus’ restaurant. That’s where I thought perhaps Ryan had captured Cyrus and taken him hostage to get information out of him. Now it looks like what really happened was Cyrus took a suicide capsule and his body burned and turned to ash. Of course we could later find out that Cryus made it look like a suicide but I’m beginning to think my theory was wrong.)

0:19 — Erica pulls her gun on Ryan and says, “You’re a visitor…”

Cut to commercial!!!! Argh!

0:23 — Ryan says “Everything that I’ve told you is true…”

Erica, “Except that you’re a visitor!”

Ryan, “I never said that I wasn’t.”

0:24 — Ryan’s girlfriend Valerie is at the V healing center.

Meanwhile Chad Decker sits in a lab chair to show the world how simple the V diagnostic system is. It looks like their doing a real scan on him just to show everyone how easy it is so more people will come to the healing centers. (I wonder what is going to happen…) Chad wants to get more access to the building but the V won’t let him.

0:25 — Father Jack is taking care of Georgie’s wounds. Georgie asks how come the priest knows his way around a bullet wound and Father Jack admits he was an Army Chaplin and did two tours in Iraq.

Georgie, “You and the blonde are full of surprises.”

Georgie, “You need to decide what you are, a priest or a soldier.”

0:26 — Erica and Ryan are having a heart to heart. She wants to know about the suicide pill and whether or not their are other V’s fighting against Anna. Ryan tells her about the 5th Column.

They do find a “shipping company” order form in the scientist’s briefcase. Since he was working for a university and getting everything through the school they figure this is out of place. They go investigate.

0:27 — Anna has a group interrogation of the V medical staff. One of the first things she does is makes Joshua’s assistant go to stand with the other assistants. She is mad that they couldn’t debrief “Dale” and that he could have provided invaluable information.

Anna, “Unless the guilty party steps forward to take responsibility I’m going to need to choose one of you to set an example. An innocent will suffer…. Last chance…”

The assistant steps forward. “Long live the 5th column!” calmly and cooly states the assistant.

Anna, “Joshua, as lead medical officer you will carry out the sentence. Skin him.”

(BTW The assistant’s name was David. We gotta give the guy his props as he is about to be skinned alive.)

More commercials. :(

(BTW – preview of Sherlock Holmes on the commerical. I’m a big fan of the books and the movie looks great! Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law look great as Holmes and Watson. The effects, the costumes, everything looks awesome.
IMDB site and official web site and unlike WB tv, WB movies knows how to do the interactive stuff. There is a 221B game you can play online with a friend.

0:32 –Tyler is with Lisa on the mothership. He sees Anna in the distance. He is in awe then he discovers that Lisa is her mom. (LOL. I would be freaked out too if I was him.)

Anna says she wants to get to know Tyler and Lisa leaves him with Anna.

0:33 — The Four horsemen are at the shipping company investigating the lead from the scientist.

Ryan sets off a security system called “protocol 9″ to get everyone to evacuate the building. (It’s pretty helpful to have a V on your side!)

0:34 — Anna describes to Tyler that she wants to get to know him simply because Lisa is quite taken with him and she as a good mom is just interested in her daughter’s friends and wants to get to know them because Tyler is such a big part of Lisa’s life. (It all sounds very human) In fact Anna says “I think it is universal instinct for mother’s to be protective of their young.”

Anna walks through a door onto a balcony overlooking a long chamber of glowing blue lightning. She says it is the engine room and Tyler is the first human to ever see this. (Damn she’s clever, in one fell swoop she’s made him feel special. I bet he likes her more than his real mom!)

0:35 — David the assistant is lying paralyzed on a lab table. Dr. Joshua brings a cart full of nasty looking medical devices up beside him. They are whispering to one another.

Dr. Joshua, “How could you do this? How could you sacrifice yourself?”

David, “You had to be protected. You’re one of Anna’s closest advisors. That makes you the best hope for the column.” “I can’t move my body.”

Dr. Joshua “I gave you something..” (Joshua takes pity and gives him something that should help relieve the pain of what is about to happen…)

One really important aspect of all this is Dr. Joshua doesn’t want to do it but David implores him, “My death will be meaningless if you fail now.” David also states that “That is why she is making you do it.”

I won’t get into the gory details but yes Dr. Joshua does skin his lover alive in order to keep the resistance movement alive. This allows him to protect the fact that he is a leader in the resistance and restores Anna’s faith in him that he would be willing to skin his lover alive.

0:36 — The four horsemen (Father Jack, Erica, Georgie, and Ryan) investigate the shipping company. They discover that there is a lab where experiments are being done on people. They also discover that the vitamin shot is actually a vitamin shot and that the V are slipping whatever the harmful agent is into the human’s flu vaccine!

0:42 — The four horsemen discuss how clever it is of the V to release a vitamin shot that probably is a legitimate vitamin shot. The various human agencies and governments will be so worried about the V vitamin shot that no one will bother to look at the regular old flu shot. That way they can slip in their drug/virus/agent undetected.

Erica says “They know exactly how to play us…”

0:43 — UH OH. Valerie gets her test results from the V. They found a heart condition that they can heal and ALSO…. duh duh duh…. They won’t tell you hear but I bet you can guess what it is!

0:44 — Back at the shipping company the V are back. They figured out the alarm was a fake. Ryan is going to set off the V security system’s failsafe and sends the others out of the warehouse.

Ryan gets attacked by a V and Erica returns to save Ryan’s life. As they leave a V jumps Father Jack who knocks him down in one punch. Go Father Jack! I’d go to your church any time!

BTW Commercial reminder – Lost’s last season starts Tuesday February 2nd.

0:50 — Creepy V Leader stops Chad Decker before he leaves… They V doctor tells Chad that he will die in 6 month from a brain annuerism (spelling?) The V say they can read the medical past as well as Chad’s medical future. They claim that his doctors won’t be able to see the annuerism. Only the V technology can and only the V technology can heal him. Marcus (creepy guy) says to Chad that there is a long waiting list but they can perhaps work something out.

(I’m skeptical! The V are trying to manipulate Decker. Isn’t it convenient that Chad can’t get a second opinion. His life depends on it. So does he let the V help them or not? In essence if he does they’ll own him. He’ll owe them his life so they’ll be able to constantly manipulate him.)

(Also note the ABC commentary on the episode says the V letters spell out real words on the sign. They read vertically not horizontally. Am I blind? I can’t tell what they say!)

0:52 — “Speaking of punches father, you’ve got a hell of a right hook. That V didn’t see it coming.” Erica

“You made a difference tonight.” Ryan

0:52 — “Our plan is beginning to take hold. Lisa is right. Tyler is the one.” Anna

Creepy dude delivers the news about the warehouse full of vaccine being destroyed. He shows Anna that a message was sent back to the mothership just moments before, “John May Lives”.

Word spreads throughout the ships. Anna implores Marcus to remind everyone that even with John May and the resistance they have Anna.

0:53 — (Why does Anna have to enter the bliss thingy naked? Not that I mind, mind you :)

Anna enters a big white light. Soft music plays in the background. A big build up. Anna looks like she is worshipping something or doing Yoga… she touches the surface and it radiates out.

Glowing white light shines down all over the ship. People stop what they are doing to look up and bask in the light. Anna’s voice rings out…

“No need for regrets for mistakes made yesterday. The past is gone. No looming fate. No uncontrollable destiny. No hunger. No sickness. No fear. No death. Nothing ahead. Nothing behind. Just stillness. Light. Warmth. The pain you felt. The pain you may have caused others is behind you. No looking back. No fear of what will come. Just the pulse of time. Invigorating. Soothing. Bask in my light. Take comfort knowing I am here. You will never be alone.”

Tyler, “What was that?”

Lisa, “A gift from my mother…. We call it bliss.”

0:56 — Ryan returns home to Valerie. She breaks the news to Ryan that she is pregnant!!! Uh oh! She even had it confirmed by human doctors.

(Ok, so do the V know that she was impregnated by a V? Won’t they come looking for Ryan and discover he is a resistance member? Does Ryan break the news to Valerie? Does Ryan run away? What will they do to Valerie and the baby?)

0:57 — Father Jack is back at the church rectory. He pulls out a box with a pistol, a folded american flag and some medals (looks like a bronze star was one of the medals – my dad has one so I know what it looks like, and perhaps a purple heart but I can’t tell that one, I only see the ribbon.) Georgie’s comments about deciding whether or not you are a priest or a soldier rings through his head…

Someone comes into the church. Their voice is masked. (like the old V show perhaps?) They want to talk to Father Jack. They are hunched over… he can’t tell who it is. The guy looks up and it is the bald V security guy from the warehouse. He stabs Jack! The old priest hears the noise and the bald guy runs off…

(Speaking of which is this the same guy that stabbed the resistance member in the beginning? Remember the guy that gave Father Jack photos of the resistance and died in the church?)

0:58 — Erica arrives home. Tyler isn’t there but she does have an email flashing. It was an instant message from Tyler’s buddy Brandon. “Can’t believe you were invited up to the V ship. I wanna here EVERYTHING!”

Erica rings Tyler’s cell but he ignores her.

0:59 — Cut to Tyler on the mother ship. Tyler says “it must be awesome to see space from one of these ships.”

Anna “Maybe someday you will…”

Anna with an intent stare and a glance up at space… “What you’ve seen today Tyler is only the beginning.”

The camera pulls out to the far reaches of the galaxy and we pulls in to show a fleet of V ships in space. It looks like they are heading towards earth. There are not just 29 but it appears to be hundreds of V motherships.

As the final credits come up… we get the word that V won’t return until March 2010. :(

V Episode 103 Commentary – A Bright New Day

This is my commentary for V episode 103, A Bright New Day. This show originally aired Tuesday November 17th on ABC.

FYI – This was the second time I watched the episode. I originally watched it on Tuesday and recorded this commentary afterwards.

WARNING – if you haven’t watched the show yet, stop reading :)

0:00 — “It’s a Bright New Day in America” emphasizes Chad Decker from outside the V Peace Ambassador Center. Clips of various V receiving their Visas. A few we know, Anna, Lisa, Creepy Guy, but some we don’t. Will they end up playing key roles later or are they just extras?

0:01 — “You know you helped make this day happen” says Producer Chick.
“Yes, Yes I did” says Decker.

0:02 — Father Jack is the confessional hearing people’s confession and hearing all the confused people. People who are happy that the V’s cured their sick loved ones. People who are doubting God. People who follow blindly the Pope. It ends with a guy saying “I feel lost.” I think it is safe to say that Father Jack feels lost right now too.

0:03 — Tyler (Erica’s son) is being warned not to go into the city because of the V stuff going on. He says he is just going to give Brandon a lift so Erica says ok, but come right home after… Somehow I doubt he’s going to listen. As he leaves Jack shows up knocking at Erica’s door.

0:04 — Father Jack wants to get involved and be useful so he went to Erica. Erica’s been researching the list of people they stole from the FBI task force. This is the list of people who have reported alien stuff in the past. Erica is cross referencing them with FBI files to whittle the list down to a smaller number of people to investigate.

Jack has some interesting points… WHY are the V doing what they are doing? Why do they need to infiltrate the people and use sleeper cells instead of annihilating us.

Erica says it’s because the V are smart and patient and that the V must need us for something and that’s why they don’t annihilate us.

Erica gets a call from the FBI asking her to come into the city to help protect the V’s peace ambassador center. There is a credible threat that someone is going to try and attack the V today.

0:05 — RYAN :) I got high hopes for this guy… He seems like a bad ass lizard who is willing to kick other lizard ass and he actually likes humans (he is in love with one after all.)

Ryan tells his girlfriend he would never keep secrets from her. (LOLOLOLOL how about the fact that you are a lizard? How about the fact that you’re leading a resistance group?)

Ryan gets into a car and Georgie is in it. Ryan setup the meeting. Ryan wants to mount a new resistance.

Georgie is scared. He’s scared of the V’s because they keep finding the resistance groups. Ryan says that’s why they have to act now before the V infiltrate the resistance even further.

Georgie says “How? We don’t have access to cash or bodies.”

Ryan says he has access to BOTH! (I told you I like this lizard guy ;)

Ryan, “Have you ever heard of John May?”

Georgie, “The guy’s a myth.”

Ryan, “He’s not a myth. He’s real. John May’s the leader of the 5th Column. The first group of visitors to ever turn against the leadership. He started it.”

Georgie, “The visitors have sleeper cells EVERYWHERE.”

Ryan, “And so do we. The 5th column is down but it’s not out. We can win this.”

Georgie, “And if John May gets into this…”

Ryan, “He’ll bring it on me.”

0:07 — Creepy V leader and the V doctor are talking about Dale. At the end of last show we saw Erica’s old FBI partner wake up in the V ship. They saved him. The Creepy V guy says they need to figure out who compromised Dale’s identity. He was a highly placed sleeper and they really want to know who and how many people know he is a V.

BTW Jen says the doctor looks familiar. Who the heck is he? Where do we know him from? (Oh and the Dr’s character name is Joshua.)

Dale says “I need your help to remember who did this to me…”

0:11 — Anna is watching Decker reporting on a woman is a widow of the man flying the F16 that crashed in the first day. She’s on a hunger strike and she is bringing up the fact that 642 souls were killed in “accidents” caused by the V’s arrival. She plans to speak live from in front of the V Peace Ambassador Center in NYC. Anna asks creepy guy to give her as much information as he can on the woman so she can stop this…

0:12 — Tyler drops off his buddy Brandon at the V Peace Ambassador Center. Remember Tyler got kicked out of the Ambassador program for fighting. Tyler gets on his motorcycle and leaves just as his mom is showing up (so she still doesn’t know he is with the peace ambassadors). BTW Brandon feels guilty for getting him kicked out…

0:13 — FBI boss tells Erica they had multiple calls on this guy and gives her a typical profile of what to look for. They think this guy is serious and he has a plan.

FBI boss says they have to coordinate with V security and each FBI agent will partner with a V. Erica is NOT happy about that. I wonder why ;) At least this time she knows her partner is a V.

0:14 — Erica has her partner take her to the surveillance center. He says it’s restricted but he still takes her back there. BUT it looks way out of date and I think Erica picks up on that. It doesn’t look like there is much technology here… He says it is what they were given when they got here and haven’t had time to change it.

Erica immediately begins to help the V and to give them instructions for tracking the shooter, fixing camera angles, what to look for, etc.

The V guy also says if there are injuries the V want assurances that the V will be treated by their own medical staff. As he says this Erica notices another room with V technology protecting it. She gets a glimpse inside the door when someone opens it.

0:15 — Father Jack finds Georgie listed on the files they stole from the FBI. He calls Erica to give her a message and let her know he found the guy who led the warehouse meeting.

0:15 — Georgie and Ryan. Ryan shows Georgie the card with “Cyrus” on it. This is the card that Ryan’s girlfriend found in their house last episode when she moved a picture. Ryan tells Georgie that he needs help finding people and that this guy Cyrus is an old friend and 5th Column member. He says Cyrus used to be his right hand man and was one of the best fighters. Cyrus also used to have the best contacts.

Georgie refuses to go with Ryan. He says it will be awhile before he recruits again. Ryan says he has to do this. There is strength in numbers so he has to rebuild the 5th Column.

0:16 — An old restaurant under remodeling. Ryan goes in anyway and finds Cyrus. Cyrus “What are you doing here man?” and Ryan says “I’ll give you 29 guesses.”

0:17 — Cuts to the NY mothership and the creepy guy says the captain of all 29 ships are present. Erica is telling them to control popular opinion and to monitor those opinions and shape those opinions if neccessary. She says this is a key to stopping the resistance before it starts.

0:18 — Dale and Dr. Joshua are talking. Dale is trying to find out what happened. He asks about how bad his scar was. Dr. Joshua says that he was “wide open“. Dale realizes this means whoever did that to him saw his “true face.”

0:21 — Anna and creepy guy are talking about Mary Faulkner (the widow). Anna is worried that her story will infect others. Remember Anna is trying to control public opinion here.

0:22 — Father Jack drives up in a mini van. LOL. He is looking for George Sutton. Father Jack let’s himself into the room. A woman comes in… I guess it is a good thing he is wearing a priest uniform because otherwise someone might call the cops on him for breaking and entering but who is going to complain about a priest? Who is going to be scared of a priest? I guess he is going to be a good person to have in the resistance!

She mentions George doesn’t live there any more and asks if Father Jack is counseling George about the murders. Father Jack sees some newspaper articles on the wall… He gives her his card and tells her to give it to George if she is in contact with him and let him know “You can tell him, I was at the warehouse. He’ll know what that means“.

0:24 — Cyrus tells Ryan that everybody is scattered and it will be hard to find people. Ryan is trying to recruit Cyrus to be the first to join the resistance. Cyrus has the names and numbers in the back and tells Ryan to get his glasses off the table. As Ryan goes through the door into the back he finds Cyrus holding a gun. Ryan reaches under the counter and hits a button????

Apparently Cyrus has gone back to the V. They offered to “reconnect” him in exchange for him turning over 5th column members. They talk about “The Bliss” which is how she controls us. Ryan says it is how she controls them (meaning the V) and that it is like a drug. He says Cyrus is a junkie because he is willing to do anything to get back to the V so he can be a part of “the bliss” again.

That’s probably a really important conversation ;) Don’t you think?

0:26 — Ryan takes the gun from Cyrus and points it at his head. He says “You gotta be alive to be reconnected”… and we cut to commercial!

0:30 — Erica and her V security partner are on top of a nearby building. She spots a missing guard. They run down to check and find a guard who has been knocked out. The security guard is missing his jacket. So now they have to try and find someone in a V uniform.

0:32 — the chase for the shooter continues. Erica sees him just as he is about to shoot at Creepy V dude. She grabs him and throws him to the ground before he can shoot. The V think she’s a bad ass and I think they immediately like her.

0:33 — the pizza place. Brandon and Tyler show up… Lisa is in the corner at a table. Brandon set this up so he could make it up to his buddy. He leaves Tyler with Lisa. Lisa tells Tyler that he is back in the ambassadors again. (Wasn’t it lucky for him that he couldn’t be there today when his mom was there working all day. She would have discovered him, don’t you think?)

0:34 — Erica is bringing the bad guy to the V holding area and her boss and the security guys won’t let her in. They take the bad guy from her. Her boss says “It’s complicated. They’ll take it from here.”

I’ve got to tell you her boss is continuing to creep me out. I definitely think he’s a V.

0:35 — Meanwhile Erica doesn’t leave the building. She takes this opportunity to go find the room she saw earlier which was protected by alien security. After a couple of tries she manages to unlock the door. (She saw someone enter the security code earlier, at least she didn’t get in on the first try!)

This room has a bunch of floating screens in it. It looks like live video feeds and it shows Peace Ambassadors talking to people. Eventually she finds a video feed of the room she is in. She doesn’t panic though. Instead she tries to find the source of the video. It is coming from a V uniform hung on the back of the door. Apparently the symbol on the jacket is a camera.

Finally she gets spooked and leaves just before the video feed of Tyler trying on his peace ambassador jacket comes up ;) That kid keeps getting lucky. Obviously his mom is going to figure it out sometime soon, but WHEN?

0:42 — Anna is practicing her acting. She is trying to show sympathy. She appears to be practicing speaking to the widow and she is trying to figure out the right way to say “I am so sorry for your loss” “only together can we help each other heal…”

0:43 — She surprises the widow and asks for a few moments of her time. Her acting seems to be working… the widow starts crying. Anna says this is the only way they could meet without causing a scene.

0:44 — FBI boss finds Erica and says someone would like to meet her. It is creepy V dude. He wants to thank her for saving his life. Creepy V dude and Creepy FBI dude both together. YUCK! Erica’s skin is probably crawling. LOL.

0:45 — Dale and Dr. Joshua are trying to restore his memories. Dr. Joshua has made some sort of virtual construct (kind of like the thing in Star Trek) where Dale can walk around the FBI office without actually being there. It seems to be working and starts helping Dale remember things.

Dale says, “You can’t believe how disgusting it was to wake up every morning next to a human.”

Dale realizes it was Erica who saw his true face. He wants them to send him back down so he can kill Erica personally.

0:46 — Georgie sneaks up behind Father Jack with a gun. He holds it to Jack’s back. He pulls his ear aside and sees the “v” incision they put there to check on the resistance members to see if they had a skull instead of lizard skin. So he knows Jack is telling the truth.

He tells Georgie that he was with Erica the FBI agent and that they know who the mole was. He tells Georgie that it was Erica’s partner and that Erica had to kill him.

Georgie is still scared. He’s seen too many resistance groups broken up and people killed. He is hesitant.

Father Jack says, “I know this whole thing has made you feel alone. Lost. There is strength in numbers. We need to stick together George.”

George says, “It’s Georgie.”

0:48 — Dr. Joshua is interrogating Dale to try and find out if anyone other than Erica saw him. Dale says he she was meeting other resistance members.

Dr. Joshua, “I’m not letting you go back down.”

Dale, “Come again?”

Dr. Joshua, “If half the things you say about Erica are true, she’s going to make an excellent ally.”

Dale tries to fight back but it’s all virtual. The virtual room fades away. Dr. Joshua is there and stabs him in the arm with a syringe. Dale realizes he is a traitor as Dr Joshua says “The 5th column says hello.!”

WOOT WOOT WOOT! That means they have resistance members ON the mothership!

0:49 — Mary Faulkner (the widow) gives her speech at the V Peace Ambassador Center. It looks like Anna has done a good job of silencing the voice of the anti-v protestors. Her lizard tears must have worked. Anna made her believe that her husband didn’t die in vain and that they need to have hope and trust in the V. Then Anna gives an oscar winning speech. I guess she’s doing a good job at shaping public opinion.

“We remain of peace, always” Anna

0:51 — Creepy V leader and a task force are at Cyrus’ restaurant. They say Cyrus set off the alarm but we all know it was Ryan who did it. They show the floor and it looks like there is a red stain but there is a clear spot in the middle where something has been cleaned/wiped up. The V leaders believe they got their too late and Cyrus is dead. We don’t know for sure if he is dead or not. He might not be. Perhaps Ryan made it look like he was dead so that the V wouldn’t search for him. Perhaps Ryan is torturing him or using him to get more information on other 5th column members or get information on the V. I’m guessing we’ll find out that Cyrus is really alive. I think the whole point in Ryan making sure the V came to investigate was he wanted them to believe Cyrus was dead.

“John May Lives” is spray painted on the back of the kitchen door. Creepy V leader says “There will be no peace” when he sees the door.

0:56 — Uh oh. Lisa and Tyler are in his bedroom and he shuts the door behind him… Which one was working their magic? Does Tyler have game or does Lisa? ;)

Erica disturbs them and Tyler has enough sense to hide his V outfit. Lisa hides hers by pretending to be half naked… It fools Erica. BTW Lisa looks great in case you didn’t know ;)

(BTW why the heck does he have $220 worth of unused skateboards on his wall… no kid would have UNUSED skateboards on their wall. They would skate the board until it is unusable/they get a new one then put the old one on the wall as a sort of trophy.)

0:58 — Ahhh. Now we see the assassin was a fake, he was really a V soldier. Anna tells the V soldier he did well done. Chad is reporting that the anti-V protest movement was dealt a serious blow, that Mary Faulkner’s speech and the assassination attempt has led to an outpouring of new support for the visitors.

0:59 — Father Jack and Erica meet to discuss the V jackets with the cameras inside. She’s worried for Jack. She didn’t think he was very smart to go out trying to find Georgie. Meanwhile Georgie shows up :) He brought a friend. Ryan.

1:00 — Lisa meets with Anna.

Lisa says, “Tyler’s the one. We should use him.”

Anna extorts, “You’re doing an excellent job.”

Lisa replies, “Thank you mother!”

BTW I don’t want to spoil anything but next week’s show looks great!!

And yes it will be the final episode of the year. Next episode won’t be until March 2010.

V Episode 102 Commentary – There Is No Normal Anymore

This is my commentary for V episode 102, There Is No Normal Anymore. This show originally aired Tuesday November 10th on ABC.

FYI – This was the second time I watched the episode. I originally watched it on Tuesday and recorded this commentary afterwards.

0:01 — The rooftop conversation with Erica (FBI Chick aka. Dr. from Lost) and Father John (the young priest) from the end of last episode is replayed: They discuss building a resistance. Then suddenly a shuttle comes from out of nowhere and flies overhead. It is headed to the warehouse where the resistance meeting was held.

0:02 — The V are cleaning up the dead bodies so no one can discover what happened. Erica calls 911 to leave an anonymous tip. We see that she isn’t really talking to 911 she is talking to a guy who appears to be on a V ship using their computers and phone system. They must be tapping into the phones.

0:03 — A seeker (that little spikey ball is called a seeker – I learned that watching the commentary from the show’s producers) comes from nowhere and chases them. Erica destroys it with her best impression of Babe Ruth and a large stick.

0:04 — Erica and Jack go their separate ways. Erica tells Father Jack “Don’t trust anyone. Anyone.”

0:05 — Erica get’s home and hears someone breaking in. It is her son Tyler. He’s been out all night and is trying to sneak in. She wants him to not get involved with the Visitors any more. Meanwhile he has his V ambassador uniform hidden in his backpack. He goes up to his room and hides the V uniform.

0:06 — (After 3 weeks) We see a tv reporter talking about how the US is trying to decide whether or not to start diplomatic relations with the Visitors. The decision is going to be based in large part on the FBI’s Visitor threat assessment task force.

Cut to the old priest talking to Father Jack and telling him establishing ties with the Visitors is a good thing. He also tells Jack the police came by to ask him about the guy that was stabbed to death. (the one that tipped Jack off about the Visitors.)

0:07 — Erica has a flashback that her partner Dale was holding her son hostage. Then she gets a phone call which snaps her out of it. The phone call is from her boss at the FBI. They are trying to find Dale. (They don’t know he’s dead, remember the V cleaned up the bodies at the beginning of the show.)

0:08 — Ryan and his girlfriend in bed. She asks Ryan how his arm is. He is playing it off as a scratch from a filing cabinet though he has a huge bandage on his arm. She must be gullible. I guess we know why she hasn’t realized he is a V, because she is not real bright. ;)

0:09 — Chad Decker is watching the interview with Anna. It’s bugging him that she only wanted to talk about good things. The Producer comes by and let’s him know 80 million people watched the interview.

Quick scene of Anna and the guy that appears to be the real leader of the V. They disagree about the message she is portraying to the public. She tells him he doesn’t understand humanity.

0:12 — Erica goes to the FBI office. Ok this doesn’t make sense. The FBI is only now looking into Dale’s disappearance but the reporter earlier was talking about how it had been 3 weeks since the V came. So when did this resistance meeting happen? Was it right away? Was it 3 weeks later? I’m a little confused. It must be 3 weeks later. Maybe Erica was investigating with Dale all that time. If so the 3 week comment should have been put into the Pilot not this show. It seems like it’s out of order now.

0:13 — Erica has to go in to the office to be questioned about her partner Dale’s disappearance.

0:14 — New FBI chick goes to see Father Jack and investigate the dead guy. Apparently she is with the Visitor threat assessment task force. She says that people have logged thousand’s of calls about aliens but now they have to pay attention to them. Apparently the dead guy used to call the FBI and leave tips about aliens.

0:15 — Erica is being interrogated and not being totally honest with her FBI buddies.

0:16 — Father Jack continues to lie to the FBI agent. Isn’t that against his ethics? His oaths? His beliefs?

0:17 — Back to Erica and someone comes in and says they found Dale’s car. The car is at the warehouse where the resistance meeting was held. BTW the address of the building is an homage to one of the producers. He produced the tv show the 4400 so the warehouse’s address of 4400 Pier Ave. is an homage.

Erica goes right over to Dale’s car and starts going through it. I can’t believe they would allow her to do that. She gets his gun and hides it. She shows her boss that she found Dale’s cell phone in the car. She doesn’t mention the gun.

0:18 — Anna is speaking from the mother ships in Japan and Mexico. Apparently these countries have established diplomatic relations with the V. She is saying how she is waiting in great anticipation of Russia, India, and US to follow their lead.

Chad Decker and the bug eyed producer chick have a conversation about the poll numbers. Apparently the people are evenly divided over whether or not to trust the V. Chad says it is his fault for not asking the tough questions. The people don’t have enough information to make a decision. He gets the idea to do another show.

0:19 — Tyler, Erica’s son and his buddy are heading into some V center. Tyler has his Ambassador uniform on so they let him right in. BTW most of the ambassadors look like douche bags. The uniforms look like Nazis Youth uniforms.

Then we see Lisa. She’s a hottie. Of course I think she’s just bait to convince the horny guys to join. She takes Tyler’s buddy Brandon and helps him get signed up as an ambassador. Did I mention Lisa doesn’t wear a shirt under her jacket and unzips it to show offer her cleavage.

0:21 — the V are interrogating a guy from the resistance. They are using some sort of psychadelic on him. One thing that is interesting from this conversation is the V leader says “new resistance”. He implies that there was a previous resistance that they already shut down.

0:26 — Ryan goes to a garage in New Jersey looking for an “Angelo”. The guy avoids him. Ryan grabs him anyway. It is Angelo.

0:27 — Erica walks into the FBI office to see Father Jack. He had no idea she was with the FBI. She had no idea he was a priest. Apparently Father Jack’s guilt is getting to him and he wants to tell the truth now. BTW the new FBI chick is hot too. She looks familiar? Where is she from?

0:28 — The pizza scene. Tyler is mesmerized by Lisa. He offers to take her out for a slice of pizza. She’s never had pizza before. She teases him “What makes you think I’d go anywhere with you.”

Lisa, Anna, Erica, Mol, all the women have short names on this show….

0:29 — Whoops. Tyler punches some dude that was antagonizing the V Ambassadors. Lisa sees this and visibly gets upset and leaves. Tyler thought she’d like it. Does it really bother her? Or is she just playing hard to get?

0:30 — Ryan and Angelo. Apparently Angelo and Ryan go way back. Angelo’s trying not to be found. He wasn’t happy Ryan found him. He re-grows Ryan’s “human skin” using a couple of funky looking tools. He tells Angelo that Georgie (leader of the new resistance) has been in contact with him. He also mentions that “Have you looked up in the sky lately. It wasn’t supposed to happen yet.” Angelo mentions that whatever they will do to the humans won’t compare to what they would do to traitors like them.

0:31 — Angelo drugged Ryan. That’s what friends are for! ;) Angelo says “I can’t trust you. I can’t trust anyone.”

0:32 — Father Jack gave the pictures to the FBI task force. Erica is pissed at him. She says he shouldn’t trust anyone.

FBI Boss is mad at Erica. He thinks she is lying to him. He pulls out an audio recorder which has the recording of her fake call to 911 on it. HELLO! Is FBI Boss a V?!?

0:37 — Erica tells her boss she thinks Dale was a mole and was leaking info to one of the terrorist groups they were investigating. She said she was following him to find out whether or not he was the leak.

Erica’s boss says the DEA had the phone’s tapped. He won’t admit it was the V. I don’t like this guy.

0:39 — Chad Decker is hosting a show about the V. He has two people on the show. One a pro-V advocate and one a person who doesn’t trust the V.

Erica goes to Father Jack and tries to apologize for earlier. Erica tells him that he is the only person she can trust.

0:40 — Erica meets with Dale’s wife. She wants to know why he never called home. His wife said he had a personal phone to make personal calls on. She shows Erica the call records and shows that she has already found a strange number that he kept making calls too. Even his wife was suspicious. (Although she probably thought he was cheating on her not that he was a V!)

0:41 — Ryan wakes up in the strange garage. Whew! I thought something bad would happen to him. It looks like Angelo just drugged him and used the time to escape. He didn’t hurt Ryan.

0:47 — Erica shows her boss Dale’s phone records. The phone number is a dead end but she can show that every time they were going to investigate this terrorist cell Dale would make a call to the number 20 minutes or 30 minutes before the FBI was to show up.

0:48 — Ryan comes home and gets a call from Angelo. Angelo tells him to not get involved. If he does his girlfriend could be in trouble. He tells them that the V could easily find her and hurt her.

Tyler goes to the V installation and sees Lisa. He can’t get through the gates because they won’t let him in. They won’t let him in because of the fight he got into. Lisa is upset with him because she was the one who recommended him so it looks bad for him.

0:49 — “This was nothing less than a complete abrogation of our agreement.” from the creepy guy V leader. Decker teases him over his use of such a big word. Anna and the creepy guy are upset about his show. Decker tells him that it helped the V in the polls. He tells them next time they need his help it is going to cost them.

0:55 — the US and the V have agreed to diplomatic relations. This means some V will get “visas” and be able to travel around the US instead of being stuck in that V installation.

0:56 — the two priests watch the announcement. The old priest says it is a great blessing. This old guy has to be a V!

Anna calls Chad to thank him. Then hangs up on him. LOL. WOMEN!

0:57 — Father Jack and Erica meet on the street. Father Jack says he is scared of the fact that the V now have diplomatic immunity and can travel around. Erica says there may be V on the task force. She swiped a list of everyone who reported aliens. Maybe some of them were part of the resistance.

0:58 — Ryan and the girlfriend are hanging out at home. He shows her his arm is healed except a scar. She notices a picture is upside down. She goes to move it and finds a note. The note is from Cyrus along with an address. He plays it off. She let’s him get away with it. This woman is gullible! Or at least pretending to be! Maybe she is V too? Maybe she’s a V who is sent to track the rebellion. Maybe that’s why she is so dumb. If someone came to my house and snuck in and flipped over a photo I think I’d freak out.

0:59 — Tyler’s dreaming of Lisa ;)

0:60 — Erica’s over Dale. She just shredded his photo.

BUT now we see the mother ship. There’s a body lying on a table. The body is of Dale. He wakes up! Uh Oh! The V have created another Dale or healed the original one. Hmm. This “human” body of Dale has a scar on his head where Erica beat him up. HMMMMM. Interesting.

V Pilot Episode – recap & commentary

This is a recap and commentary of the pilot episode which aired: Tuesday, November 3rd

Don’t read this if you haven’t watched the show already!

0:00 — Where were you when JFK was assassinated?  Where were you on 9/11?  Where were you this morning?

(Ooh I like that intro…)

0:01 — Who is the chick? Took me and Jen a few minutes to place her. We thought a doctor but we were thinking ER not Lost. What the heck is she doing on V? Is she not going to be on Lost any more?

0:02 — That’s the dude from Party of 5 right? Where the hell has he been.

0:04 — The jet crashing and the pilot in the parachute seemed a little cheesy to me. Are they implying the jet tried to shoot the spaceship down? First glimpse of a spaceship flying over New York.

0:08 — The special-fx are pretty cool for a tv series and it was a clever climax right at the commercial… but it wasn’t a commercial it was just the titles. The spaceship begins to open up and something starts to happen. It turns out it is Anna who is the spokes person for the V and is going to speak to everyone on the earth.

0:09 — There are multiple ships. There appear to be ships over most major cities across the world and in each country Anna appears and speaks in their language.  Anna is smoking hot but how come she is the one addressing everyone on the planet? I would have expected other mother ships to have V spokes people who looked like the people from that ethnic region? Again the special fx are awesome.

0:10 — Anna says they come in peace and people blindly believe? It doesn’t seem like people are questioning this at all?

The priests. That is interesting that the show looks like they are going to cover the religious aspects of what encountering aliens means to God fearing people. As the young priest says “I’m at a loss to explain how God and Aliens exist in the same world.”

0:11 — “They’re calling themselves the visitors.” – fbi babe

“You’re saying it like that bothers you.” – partner

“Visitors are old friends who drop by for a drink.” – fbi babe

0:13 — “Do you have a question?” Anna

Party of 5 Guy “Yeah I have a question. Is there such a thing as an ugly visitor?” (He doesn’t know it yet but yeah there is.)

“I don’t understand.” Anna

Party of 5 Guy “You  all seem to be what we consider attractive.”

Anna “Thank you, you’re not so bad yourself.” (and then the smoky hot stare down… she definitely wants his babies.)

0:17 — FBI chick is hunting a terrorist cell she thinks is a planned attack on the US while everyone is distracted by the visitors.  She bends over her partner and plays with her necklace. What is that necklace? Is she hot for her partner or did that look like her old wedding ring? Who is her partner, he looks familiar? (Ok looked it up: He was on Firefly/Serenity.)

0:18 — They find a shack. I should say SHE finds a shack and a trap door.  Of course there’s a damp dark tunnel to go down too. And they find a guy tied up who looks to have been tortured. They also find the stash of C4 explosive they were looking for.

0:19 — Ryan – I’m getting a feeling about this guy.

0:20 — The shuttle reminds me of the one from the original series. I think it’s cool that they updated it but kept the same overall style.

0:22 — “Hello, welcome to the New York Mothership, my name is Lisa.” (Uh, I think your name is bait!)

0:23 — Peace Ambassador program… I’m thinking these two are the ones from the original series that discovered one of the really big secrets about the V, right?

0:24 — the Priest is saying that the visitors need to earn our trust. I like this guy. The old priest is giving him dirty looks.

0:25 — OOOH the young priest tells the old priest that “under the right conditions and with enough time, gratitude can morph into worship, or worse… devotion.” This is in response to the fact that the V are sharing their technology such as medical cures for 60+ ailments with the people. The young priest is saying that if we aren’t careful our gratitude can turn into worship of the V.  The the crippled parishoner comes in and stands up declaring he is no longer crippled.

0:27  — The FBI chick busts her son for being obsessed with the V and putting up a web site showing people how to spread the word by “tagging” or spray painting “V” symbols.

ABC missed the ball. They show a web site with the address of http://www.visitmothership.com and yet there is nothing there! Come on ABC this is the digital/social media marketing stuff that Heroes, Lost, and others do so well and you’re dropping the ball!

Oh so FBI chick’s husband left her. She still loves him even though he left her. I’m betting the necklace was her wedding ring. She isn’t wearing it on her finger any more but she can’t let it go. She still wants it close to her. She has only partially let him go. As someone going through a divorce right now myself where my wife is the one doing the leaving I can relate to what she’s going through.

0:31 — Mr Decker is Party of 5 guy’s name. Ok :) Anna has “selected” him to do a one on one interview. Does that mean she wants babies or are we talking a tv interview? And who is the creepy guy delivering the message? He doesn’t seem to be one of the beautiful people?

Ok a real tv interview ;) Not a baby making interview, too bad.

0:32 — Ryan keeps getting calls and not answering them. His girlfriend is getting suspicious but we know it is the strange guy that called him earlier in the show. I feel bad for Ryan. He’s getting in trouble when we all know he bought her an engagement ring earlier! She is going to stick her foot in her mouth…

0:33 — FBI chick called her partner sexy. I think she likes him but can’t give up on her ex-husband fully. BTW on the closeup did you notice that she is wearing too much damn makeup for a FBI agent.

They’re investigating a passport for a guy that doesn’t seem to exist. Interesting. I wonder what that could mean? ;)

0:34 — Creepy guy catches Ryan as he is leaving his work. I am getting the feeling that Ryan is going to be a key player in the resistance. He says his girlfriend doesn’t know about his past and he wants to keep it that way. What does that mean? He gives Ryan the meeting location and encourages him to come anyway.

0:35 — Father Jack finds a guy in the church who is bleeding. He bleeds all over a folder he hands to the father. He says the V’s are the ones that did this. He was coming to warn him about the V’s. He says the V’s are going to obliterate us. He tell’s the father to take the package to some people.

0:39 — Interview time. I can’t look at anything other than Anna’s legs.

Anna warns Party of 5 dude not to ask him any negative questions or questions that could paint them in a negative light.  Mr. Decker is uncomfortable with her request but she calls his bluff and tells him the interiew is going to be called off. With only two minutes left until the interview airs he has to put her on the air and give in to her demands. (Good cause I need to see those legs again.)

0:42 — BTW the show just started getting good… Now the FBI agents are at the meeting of the terrorist cell. What is with the syringe and the doctor?

0:43 — More Anna :)

Back to the terrorist cell. They are cutting a V behind a dude’s ear to reveal whether or not he has skull. NOW that is interesting!  They reveal that the “visitors” have cloned human flesh which they wear over their reptilian skin.

0:44 — More Anna. She’s lying about how they are peaceful and Party of 5 guy can ask her any question he wants but of course she has already warned him not to ask her difficult questions.

0:45 — The terrorist cell leader says that the “final stage” of the Visitor’s plan was to reveal themselves.  He is now revealing that their have been Visitors here in sleeper cells working their way into places of power in government, business, and religion.

0:46 — FBI chick’s son signs her name on the V Amabassador program permission slip.

0:47 — Father Jack has proof which includes photos of visitors living on earth and one of them is the phantom the FBI chick was trying to investigate. She now realizes this guy is talking about a sleeper cell of Visitors!

Good commercial break here and I’m facinated. I want the commercials to be over!  Are we going to see it?

0:51 — FBI chick and Father Jack meet.  Then we see some creepy flying spikey ball come in. Uh Oh. This does not look good. The spikes shoot out and then a bunch of humans come in and attack with guns and weapons.  One of them is the FBI chick’s partner!  But he isn’t helping her he is fighting her!

0:52 — Resistance leader get’s caught by himself but out of nowhere Ryan comes to save him!

0:53 — FBI Chick and her partner fight. She takes this saw blade looking thing and whacks him hard across the head… but his head is doing something weird.  What is that? It peeled back to reveal something…

She leans in to see.. it looks like reptile flesh… AND that’s a reptile eye that just opened!  He reaches up to strangle her and she puts the saw blade right through his heart.

BTW – it makes sense now that the FBI chick was having a hard time tracking down the terrorist cell. Her partner was sabotaging her the whole time.  It is pretty obvious now looking back on his reaction when they found the shack. He kept trying to get her to leave as if there was nothing there but then she found the shack. He was still trying to get her to leave, and then she kept going to find the trap door and eventually the C4 and dead guy.

Resistance Leader, “Where the hell did they come from, we were so careful this time?”

Ryan “Georgie.”

Georgie “No you were ready to walk away.”

Ryan “There is hope.”

Georgie “They are animals.”

Ryan “No, not all of them.” Ryan then removes his jacket to show Georgie a gash in his arm. The gash doesn’t look normal. Is that lizard skin underneath his flesh?

Ryan goes on to say there are other V out there like him who are “traitors” or “deserters” who will help.

0:54 — Creepy non good looking V guy who acts like Anna’s assistant talks to Mr. Decker and arranges for him to be the main interviewer for Anna. Anna says she trusts him and will utilize him when they do more interviews.

Why is the creepy guy delivering all this messages for Anna? He seems like a higher level leader than Anna does. Is she just the spokesmodel?

But Anna gave him a nice dirty look. What guy wouldn’t do whatever the heck she wanted?

0:56 — Ryan’s girlfriend just made a mistake. She’s found the engagement ring. Uh oh! Ryan comes home to tell her the truth and finds that she has the ring.  Now she’s apologizing for not trusting him and going through his things. How can he reveal his true self to her now? She is apologetic for not trusting him and if he reveals his true “lizard” self to her in her weakened state she may not ever trust him.

0:57 — Erica (FBI/Lost Chick) and Father Jack have a heart to heart.

Father Jack “What do we do now?”

Erica “We help build a resistance. We recruit. We bring more into the fold. We have to be careful.”

Father Jack “We’ll be careful.. but we have to fight.”

Erica “Oh we’ll fight. They have a big headstart. They are arming themselves with the most powerful weapon out there.”

Father Jack “Oh what’s that?” Impatiently “Erica, what weapon?”

Erica “Devotion.”

(Meanwhile they show clips of Erica’s son meeting up with Lisa aka Bait and joining the Ambassador program.)
